<p>This article explains how to create a shortcut to your VCIT My Documents. It pertains to Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 computers only.</p>
<h3>Windows XP</h3>
<ol>
<li>Open &#8220;My Computer&#8221; from either the Start Menu or Desktop</li>
<li>In the left side bar menu, under the heading &#8220;Other Places&#8221;, select &#8220;My Network Places&#8221;</li>
<li>From the &#8220;My Network Places&#8221; window, select &#8220;Add a network place&#8221; from the left side bar menu</li>
<li>On the Welcome screen, click &#8220;Next&#8221;</li>
<li>Select &#8220;Choose another network location&#8221; and then press &#8220;Next&#8221;</li>
<li>In the &#8220;Internet or network address&#8221; box, type in the URL to your VCIT My Documents folder</li>
<li>When prompted for a user name and password, type in your VCIT user name and password and click &#8220;OK&#8221;</li>
<li>Provide a name for this shortcut or accept the default. Click &#8220;Next&#8221;</li>
<li>Click &#8220;Finish&#8221;.</li>
</ol>
<p>For convenience, you can drag the new shortcut to your local Desktop if you prefer.</p>
<h3>Windows Vista</h3>
<ol>
<li>Open &#8220;My Computer&#8221; from either the Start Menu or Desktop</li>
<li>Click the &#8220;Map Network Drive&#8221; button</li>
<li>When asked &#8220;What network folder would you like to map?&#8221;, select an available drive letter and type in the URL to your VCIT My Documents folder in the &#8220;Folder:&#8221; box provided</li>
<li>Enable the checkbox labelled &#8220;Reconnect at logon&#8221;</li>
<li>Click on the &#8220;Connect using a <span style="text-decoration: underline;">different user name</span>&#8221; link</li>
<li>Enter your VCIT user name and password, making sure to prepend your user name with VCIT\ (i.e. VCIT\jdoe)</li>
<li>Click Finish</li>
</ol>
<p>You should now have a new network drive showing within My Computer.</p>
<h3>Windows 7</h3>
<ol>
<li>Open &#8220;Computer&#8221; from the Start Menu</li>
<li>Click on the &#8220;Map network drive&#8221; button</li>
<li>When asked &#8220;What network folder would you like to map?&#8221;, select an available drive letter and type in the URL to your VCIT My Documents folder in the &#8220;Folder:&#8221; box provided</li>

<li>Click Finish</li>

<p>You should now have a new network drive showing within My Computer.</p>
